On Sunday October 23, 2005, the Stillbirth Foundation was officially launched over lunch at the picturesque Shores Restaurant, Mosman.
The diners were entertained by two excellent keynote speeches. The first from Professor Jonathan Morris outlined the research the foundation will help make possible and the objectives of the foundation.
Our second keynote speaker, Deb de Wilde, was greeted with a standing ovation, to recognise the outstanding support she had given to many at the lunch and the Order of Australia Medal she recently received.
Diners were also entertained with lucky door prizes, raffles and many silent auctions. These, along with the lunch ticket price, helped raise over $13,500.
The lunch finished with the release of balloons, each bearing the name of a child lost to stillbirth.
The Stillbirth Foundation would like to thank all those who contributed to our successful launch. These include:
In addition, a big thankyou to Leanne Ambrogio, Paula Benmayor, Sally Eagan and Stacey Vairo.
